Brånemark past and present
Professor Ingvar Brånemark is known and studied throughout the world as the discoverer of osteointegration, which opened the doors to modern implantology and its applications. As a result of this historical event, Dr.Brånemark develops numerous studies and collaborations with a small and select group of clinicians from different countries.
One of them is Dr. Joan Pi Urgell, who participated in many of the research and contributed with new protocols and advances in the field of implantology on an international scale. As a result of this collaboration, the Brånemark Osseointegration Center Barcelona (BOC) was founded in 1991.
